The opening ceremony of the "2025 NEU Summer Exchange and Learning Program for Chinese and Foreign Youth" was held at NEU From July 7 to 8. Vice President Timur of Belarusian State Technological University was invited to visit NEU and participate in relevant activities. Vice President Xu Feng of NEU attended the opening ceremony. Relevant officials from the International Cooperation and Exchange Office and the School of International Education, as well as 73 teachers and students from countries such as Belarus, Germany, the United States, and Bulgaria, participated in the opening ceremony.
President Xu Feng pointed out in his speech that the Summer Exchange and Learning Program for Chinese and Foreign Youth is a vivid practice of NEU serving China’s endeavors in the building of a community with a shared future for mankind and deepening the exchange and mutual learning of civilizations. He hoped that the teachers and students of the program could fully experience Chinese culture, embrace the achievements of China's development, and act as envoys of civilization.
President Timur said that the summer exchange and study program for Chinese and foreign youth is a proof of the deep friendship between Northeastern University and Belarusian State Technical University. In the future, the two universities will continue to deepen cooperation and jointly build a Chinese technology department by relying on the Confucius Institute of Science and Technology. He wished the participants success in their studies and enhanced their understanding and love for Chinese culture.
Vice President Tang Lixin met with President Timur and his delegation on July 8. Tang stated that NEU and Belarusian State Technological University have a solid foundation for cooperation and fruitful results have been achieved. He highly praised the achievements made by the two universities over the years in the construction of Confucius Institute of Science and Technology, student exchange, and scientific research cooperation. He suggested more profound educational, scientific and technological, and cultural cooperation in fields such as machinery, metallurgy, and materials between the two universities.
President Timur expressed his gratitude for the invitation from NEU and hoped that the two universities would take the Confucius Institute of Science and Technology as a platform to promote the establishment of a Chinese technology department and enhance cooperation in such fields as teacher and student exchange, joint talent cultivation, and scientific research collaboration.
